Landmark agreement supports F-21 Block 70 ‘Make in India’ offer Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Tata Advanced Systems signed a landmark agreement affirming the companies intent to join hands to produce the F-21 Block 70 in India.

The F-21 Block 70 is ideally suited to meet the Indian Air Force’s single-engine fighter needs and this unmatched US-Indian industry partnership directly supports India’s initiative to develop private aerospace and defense manufacturing capacity in India. This unprecedented F-21 production partnership between the world’s largest defense contractor and India’s premier industrial house provides India the opportunity to produce, operate and export F-21 Block 70 aircraft, the newest and most advanced version of the world’s most successful, combat-proven multi-role fighter. F-21 production in India supports thousands of Lockheed Martin and F-21 supplier jobs in the US, creates new manufacturing jobs in India and positions the Indian industry at the center of the most extensive fighter aircraft supply ecosystem in the world.

TASL and Lockheed Martin have agreed to produce F-16 wings in TASL in India for its global requirements.

Tata Advanced Systems is the Indian Production Agency (IPA) for the manufacture of the Airbus C295 military transport aircraft for the Indian Air Force, which will usher in a new era for aerospace manufacturing in India.



Under the Strategic Partnership Model, an Indian Company will tie up with a Foreign OEM and will be responsible for delivering 111 Naval Utility Helicopters (NUH) of 5 Ton Class to the Indian Navy.
